Two of our Science curricular competencies are “identifying questions about familiar objects and events that can be investigated scientifically” and “making predictions based on prior knowledge.” We’ve been putting those skills to action with a simple experiment that connects to what we’ve learned about plants: how does darkness affect plant growth? We made some excellent predictions and are looking forward to making and recording observations over the next few weeks.
