We were also hard at work making reasoned judgments this week. Without realizing it, many of our opinions are biased because we don’t take the time to consider different perspectives prior to forming our own. To practise making informed opinions, everyone got to pick a topic that interested them (Arnav’s topic was “Should people who visit Africa should be able to return with the risk of Ebola?” and Sukhman’s was “Should students should be allowed to chew gum at school?”) Many topics required some research to in order to make sure that we had two perspectives and accurate information. Once our drafts were complete, our next step was giving peer feedback based on the assignment criteria. Because it was our first peer assessment, students got lots of support to ensure that their feedback was clear and accurate. We’re in the final stages of our blogs so we’re not quite finished, but if you’re curious in checking out please do!! howdendivision2.weebly.com
