- I organize my ideas into paragraphs that include supporting details

Our next step involved peer assessment. Although we’ve recently given feedback to peers on our birdhouse designs and our use of different sentence structures, we’ve not done any formal peer assessments. Before giving each other feedback, we had a quick “how to peer assess” guided activity. As a group, we looked at a writing sample and discussed the organization of the writing. The sample we looked at had ideas, but those ideas did not include supporting details. After a directed lesson, we were ready to formally peer assess. We did a great job identifying strengths and challenges so it’ll be interesting to share that info with our peers next week.
