Learning Intention: I can code an Ozobot to show how my animal interacts in its ecosystem
Criteria:
- My 3D setting includes abiotic and biotic parts of my animal’s habitat
- My Ozobot responds correctly to shelter, food & water
- My Ozobot responds correctly to threats (environmental and or/predators)
- I use scientific vocabulary (predators, prey, abiotic, biotic, food chain) when explaining my creation
To get started, we chose a species and then gathered information (from reliable sources) about that species. We learned a lot! Did you know that the only predators for killer whales are humans? And that hares rely on a burrow for their shelter? Our next step was to create tracks for an Ozobot (aka our species) to follow and to use codes to show how our species would respond to parts of their ecosystem – like predators and prey. We’re not quite done so we'll finish up before sharing our learning next week!
