This week we combined what we’ve learned about simple machines with parts of the Scientific Method – making predictions, making observations, gathering data and drawing conclusions – and we began an experiment with inclined planes: will dragging a load along an inclined plane require more or less effort than lifting that same load? We’ve had lots of fun creating our loads for the experiment, measuring the effort involved with lifting/dragging and recording those measurements. It’s been fascinating to compare our results.
